Presotto Italia Storage Beds

atlapresotto01.jpgUnder-bed storage is one of most valuable hidden storage real estate in the home. We store our magazine collections in plastic bins under our platform bed (mostly issues of Saveur and Martha Stewart), but getting to them can both be a hassle and messy (the dust down there is insane). Thus we're a little envious of these two-position storage beds from Presotto Italia that takes storage to new heights and ease...

Although this one appears to be much nicer, EQ3 has something similar for less:

I went to the website, signed up for more info and was informed that this bed isn't available in the estati uniti, just yet. Does anyone know if a similar bed is available in The States, particularly in CA?

This bed seems interesting. I have a storage bed (not the one above, but one with drawers underneath) and it is pretty overrated. Mostly, it is a huge pain to get things in/out and it gets incredibly dusty in there and is impossible to clean. Also you have to put it in the right location or you can't access the drawers, and the drawers broke on mine after a few years (can't move them very well). I wonder if these new ones get rid of these issues, though I worry though that I wouldn't be able to lift the mattress as shown in the photo.

I won't put anything under our bed (not that we have one with storage). It really grosses me out, and I think it makes me sleep badly.

IKEA, I still believe, sells an option to do this with its beds for much less.
