we did the "ice cream ball" thing back in the day, a small coffee can inside of a larger coffee can, fill the space in between with rock salt and ice, roll it back and forth and KABOOM!!
ice cream. I now do this same thing with niece and nephew and it's cheap fun, as i always look for cheap fun (paper airplanes, planting kidney beans, painting the house with the water hose) as I am saving to get my tub reglazed.
Too rich for my wallet, but very, very cool.
