Camo Speakers: If you can't hide them, you can "camouflage" them.

"Zip" Pods by Matthew Sheargold: These stools are so cute and colorful- sadly looks like they're only available in austrailia.

Eva Solo table top Grill with Teak Stand: It's porcelain and stainless steel, and a beautiful alternative to the standard hibachi...

Beachstone Placemats ($11.20each): These would be a great way to add texture to a cool modern/minimal tablesetting.

"If you can't hide them..." I see this sort of statement all the time, and from people that claim to love music. Why be ashamed of the stereo components that bring you so much joy and pleasure, or at least entertainment? Just like the beautiful, blue KitchenAid 6qt mixer that enjoys a place on our kitchen counter, the stero speakers that fill our home with music are equally functional and beautiful. Buy nice things, thoughtfully and carefully, and enjoy them proudly.

I sent Maxwell information about the pebble placemats a while back. The ones I told him about are exactly the same as the ones here but are $6.00 for a placemat!

Re: Camo Speakers. Does it come with a speaker grille to protect the cone, driver and tweeter? The link to the product page doesn't show one.

those placemats are nifty, but i'd hate to have to clean tomato sauce out of those crevices. i made a river rock door mat but am afraid to put it outside for that reason.

anne- GREAT find!- that is a much better deal!

enrique- i'm assuming it doesn't come with a cover- i think the orange cone is meant to be seen since it's apparently made of the same material as bullet proof vests...and looking at the Bowers & Wilkin's site (the one they collaborated with), it doesn't look like any of their products are inteded to have covers...

Do not use the grill indoors. Do not use the grill on apartment balconies or patios. Do not use it anywhere that anyone will be inhaling the fumes in a direct way.

I personally had to call the Poison Control Center for ME, not because I was barbequing, but because some IDIOTS below me were barbequing...and all their smoke came into MY apartment...and there ARE NO OTHER WINDOWS. I DID turn red.

Enrique - my guess is that it probably does include a grill because it is a costmetic variation on an existing product line. The project has the support of the speaker manufacturer, B&W, and all the speakers I've purchased from them in the past have included grills so I assume these will be no different. They'd likely be grey rather than camo.

The more I think about those placemats the more I'm inclined to use them for something else. I wonder if they can be glued to a wall or used to cover the top of a sidetable or to edge a balcony. At $6 per 15" sq. there could be a lot of other uses for a good price. Even the cocktail squares could be used in tighter spaces.

Wait a minute - I just went back to the site and see that I made a mistake on the pricing. The placemats are $12 so the ones above are a better buy by $.80. But the coasters are $6 for a set of 4. Since the coasters are 4" sq. that would give you a 16" sq. for $6. Even better.

anne- you know- you are totally right in thinking to use the placemats for something different- i think these placemats are pretty much the same thing as those pre-made tile sheets that are also backed with the clear meshing- you could probably just slap some grout on and let the creativity flow!

Uh, nooo, Anne, you'd get an 8" square with 4 squares of 4".

4"+4"=8"
+
4"
=
8"

For a 16" square, you'd need another three sets of four. Which would be $24.00.
