What inspired you?
I want to create something comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. I’ve been here only three months, and it's the first place on my own. I’m trying to furnish it only with pieces I really admire. For each room I wanted to have a different color palette and reflect my interests in art and design.

very nice. i'm into the grey and pink colour scheme. and extra points for having good taste in art - i'm a big fan of margaret kilgallen and caught her book on the table.
Very chic!
I really like the silver bedding. Thank you for sharing.
ooh! where's that tufted-back couch from?
Nice that you have that beautiful bertoia chair. and thanks for the beautiful cherry blossoms. The chair in your kitchen looks like a cross between bertoia and eames (the eiffel kind) what is it? A nice soft feeling to this place.
What a welcoming space. Love the coffee table. Definitely could live there.
This looks great. I could never deal with metal furniture. I'm a comfort hog, but it sure looks fine. Maybe a bit more tailoring in the bedroom.
Well done.
Good point Lady J. I think pillows that matched the coverlet against the wall would be nice. Depending on the bed, and what's under it, tucking the quilt in would give the bedroom a more finished look.
charming, I love the sofa and the coffee table.
Lovely home. Where did you buy the rectangular pillow that has a beige background and pink flowers that sits on your couch?
yes, where did that couch come from, love it!
dreamy
Very nice, so welcoming to see an open window. Oh, there is nothing like a bertoia chair - I love it. Actually I have two of the same chair from your kitchen. I think are originally repros from Modernica($$$), but I got mine off Craigslist($)
Pleasant, and remarkably cohesive (given that you've just recently started putting it together). I have to wonder what the blooming tree outside has to do with your apartment design, though. I'd rather see more of your (inside) space.
As someone who once lived with 3 other people in a teeny weeny apt, which had two magnificent Bay views, the view whether it's a lovely tree or the sight of a mountain, or several human vignettes å la "Rear Window," a view expands the available space psychologically and emotionally. If it's a view of the Sangre de Christo or Sandia mountains it's also spiritual.
please, please, please tell us where you bought the sofa - loving it!
Hello all - Romi here. Thanks for all the good feedback! To answer a few questions:
For those of you inquiring about the sofa - it was a craigslist find - the coffee table and bertoia chair were both from there as well. I bought the sofa gently used for less than half the retail. It is originally from Empiric on Beverly - you can find it here at this link:
http://www.empiricstudio.com/showrooms/sofas/kingston.html
That pillow is the Rody design from Klein Reid - I bought it from Shelter in Santa Monica - a pricey little splurge - a closer look at it here:

The chair in the kitchen is from Modernica, bought for 50% off a few weeks ago at the warehouse sale listed on this website. I believe it is an eames design. The attraction of the wire chairs is that they are light, don't take up too much visual space, and when I want new chairs I can put them outside in the garden (get a powder coat on them first, of course).
I put the picture of the peach blossoms up because it showed a bit of where my apartment was situated - that I was on the hillside. It was a nice surprise to open up my bathroom window and find the tree that had shed all its leaves had burst into bloom! My place comes with a shared garden area that my nice neighbor has given me free reign - I am as excited about that as much as I am for the inside. I do agree that I should have submited more pictures of the inside of my apartment, but still being new to my place they needed more refining. I'm getting great ideas from this website.
nice catch drumwell - margaret killgallen is awesome - I wish I caught her show at Redcat. I also wish I could paint as large scale on my walls as she did....still have to get that wall painted at the top of the stairs...maybe chalkboard paint so I can draw all over it...
Hi Romi,
I love the burst of light in your space! You have such an awesome vision and great taste for your home. I love it!!! The living room is amazing. The best of luck to you.
neat. fresh . clean. feminine.
Great taste. What else can I say? I do love the couch and the artwork in the living room.
I love the kitchen - the colors against the white.
