That vial of poison in the kitchen earned you a 'super cool' vote.

Uh, I thought this apartment, aside from a few interesting elements, was sparse and boring. And you can get that light from the MoMA store.

Do you have a living room?

I got a sense of your kitchen and bedroom, but nothing else. Sorry to say, the photos were poorly chosen and gave me no sense of the overall living space at all.

It felt kind of pretentious.

Loved the test tube spice rack. Otherwise, not really my style.

i am presuming the bathroom sucks. why on earth would you not show the living room. i like the table and the green chair but honestly i can't even tell if that is a table and what room it is in. you gotta show more of your space besides one room. come on. it's sort of misleading and bait and switchish.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but yeah... why on earth show no pictures of the living room in this first round of voting?

Unfortunately, this feels like a big tease. Love your fridge art, though!

You have a lot of original ideas. The test tube spice rack, the herbs in vases, and the material headboard were all out of the box ideas.

I also wished the pics showed what the living room looked like.

Loved what we got to see of it, unfortunately it wasn't that much, and that's why I had to vote "cool" instead of "super cool".

Beautiful tulips in your kitchen!

unfortunately i don't think the photos weren't planned out well enough. i would have loved to see more "room" shots rather than little accessory shots.

i do love the bedroom, though! i think the black shelf is a little heavy, visually, only because of the dark color.

very creative- love the spice rack- hilarious!!!

The light fixture and headboard were stunning.

Voted super cool- one of the most creative entries so far.

I think your photos are beautiful, but the apartment itself, without the benefit of the excellent lighting and framing, seems as if it would fall flat in real life. I couldn't give it top marks, but a good entry all the same.

Tiffany:

The lighting fixture is the "Algue" which you buy in pieces and assemble/hang however you want. It was somebody's headboard in an entry last week, and can also be a room divider. I have it on a wall in green too.

J'aime:

I agree, sorry, that I can't get an overall sense though I love some of your ideas (poison vial; hilarious). Have to say nudes of skinny ladies on my fridge doors would make me NOT want to eat, so I could be skinnier too. Is that the intent? Diet art? Nice details, though.

The fabric on the headboard was weird and baggy but i LOVED your handiwork.

Worship the spice rack and light fixture and the art.

Also, the design of that pot rack is fantastico!
Wonderful creativity.

I loved the details! I gave you a "cool" for the test tube spice rack and the unique chandelier. I want that spice rack! You need more photos, especially of your living room. Great potential, but I'd love to see more.

Totally cool light fixture, and yeah, how the heck do those glass test tubes stick to a magnetic strip? You have successfully made the 568 square feet appear as though it is more along the lines of like, 570 square feet. Very cute place Jim! (and St. Eve)

My sweetheart and I made the spice rack. I am a chemist so I have access to allot of lab supplies but all of the components can be found on ebay or at the hardware store. The unlabeled test tubes are culture tubes 18x150mm (available on ebay and from fischer scienific) (if I were to make it again I would probably use bigger tubes), to get the tubes to stick we used Neodymium Rare Earth Disc Magnets (search this on ebay) and attached them with epoxy ( This was a bit of a mess there may be better way but hot glue did not work) The black stoppers are size 2 and came from ace hardware. Once the glue dries adhering the magnets to the tubes they can be stuck to any metal strip (also available at ace). There is also a nice pre-made version on etsy by purposedesign.etsy.com. We discovered this after several fingers were glued together the etsy version comes with spices and cork stoppers.

Really nice spice rack.

Not nearly enough of the rooms to fairly evaluate, though.
What I do see tends to be a bit too playful, perhaps. I'd be interested to see if other parts of the apartment have a more sophisticated sensibility.

Is the light fixture made from those snap-together Algues pieces by the Bouroullec brothers?

If so, that is a very cool use of those things.
