i think this is my favorite so far. 1st apartment to inspire me to write a comment. it is cozy and clean, not too cluttered yet has quirky furniture/decor to give it personality!

The color and texture are truly something to be noted! I think what is best about this entry is that it is one that is not only "pretty" or "thoughtful" it leaves the viewer with something to ponder or internalize. design wise it may not be my exact style but its done sooooo well!

No to mention that the first picture of the bedroom reminded me of a scene from Krzysztof Kieslowski's movie
Trois couleurs: Bleu, with the blue pendant.

I like the colors and textures but I dont really get a clear sense of where this is going. It seems a little confused.

What a lovely retreat! Your floorplan has an item titled "outdoor bed" and I kind of passed out a little when I read that. Dreamy.

What an upbeat space! It's colorful but maintains a sense of sophistication. I love how the outdoors is almost another wing of the house. Well done.

OHhhhh I love this. Might be my favorite so far. I'm not into shaggy fur-type rugs, but here it looks so good I almost want to rethink my aversion.

Very nice - I am so jealous of the light you get. And I would kill to have an outdoor bed and live someplace I could use it.

but not just the back"yard", i love your home, and the pictures (seen in amelie?) in your living room.

I adore your style. Great splashes of color - particularly the lovely blanket folded at the end of your bed, and the drape hanging behind your dining table. Wonderful! Good luck with the contest.

anyways, i second what people have been saying about this space--it seems like a home, right down to the R2D2 and the green thumb.

I don't see anything "original" about this apartment. I don't see the cohesion between furniture pieces. Nothing stands out, or grabs my attention. Everything seems so generic. The living room and bedroom walls are "packing tape/ I just moved" taupe white.

In my opinion, the bedroom is a real turn off. It reminds me of something a high school girl would want when she finally gets her own place. The blue glittery looking chandelier, the polka dot pillows, and the TOY just scream "I am a girl under 25 just out of college". I am 32, so maybe its a maturational/developmental thing, but I find the idea of using toys as decorations immature and too kitschy.

super cool. i don't see "teenager" anywhere, just someone who loves color. i especially love the kitchen shot, as if we're old friends walking in while you're prepping for dinner. and i've been thinking of getting a joom pillow myself.

nicely done!

To each his/her own, I guess -- this is definitely not my bag. It may be comfortable, colorful and cozy for the person who lives there -- but it is a loooooong way aways from being COOL.

I agree with the previous critiques in the sense that this place seems confused and haphazard in one regard, and predictable thrift store chic on the other.

That deck is amazing, and I reeeeeeeeeeally love it's stove thing. I'm with the person who usually doesn't like shag, but kind of likes it here. I also like the paneling for some reason, which I usually don't.

I love how it is colourful and comfortable will be super organized and neat. This will not be popular with the MCM fanatics but it is clear that you put a lot of time into making a space that is attractive as well practical for you.

this is my favorite so far! love the texture in the living room, the play of the light and the De Klint style lamp (don't konw whose it is. Someone said Tord?) Love the color. Love the pillows in the bedroom and how the bed is basically in nook by a door, which is bad feng shui, but it feels so cozy. and the plants are pretty and make for killer photos.

Whoa - just found out my entry was posted. Didn't even get to vote or buy my friends' votes! I appreciate the feedback, thank you. For those who are still reading or care:

wall paint: landlord's choice and I have to live with it

R2D2: because Star Wars is awesome no matter your age and he's not just a toy, he's a pillow

bedroom: yeah, it's not how I want it yet, but I assure you I'm no longer in college or have bad feng shui in there; chair is first DIY 10 years ago and I'm attached to it

blue glittery looking chandelier: Tord Boontje's Midsummer Light (not glitter, but tyvek)

red lamp & coffee table: target.com several years ago

Michael Sowa (Amelie) prints: http://www.allposters.com/gallery.asp?startat=%2Fgallery.asp&CID=9A6D4D5C9F804F26AE280DA8B12B3113&txtSearch=michael sowa
