Hello! I'm from Brisbane and I'm really keen to get started on the cure. We're currently renovating our little 1960s bunaglow style house so I thought the cure would be an ideal way to declutter before 'moving back in' so to speak. I've been an avid follower of AT and have read both books already but I haven't done the cure yet.

Hi, sounds like a great plan!
I'm in a 1970's brick 2 bedroom penthouse apartment in St Kilda, Melbourne. We moved into a couple of years ago, have done some painting etc but ran out of puff so the living areas looks great but the other rooms are a bit hit and miss. It's the first time that I've tried to make a place be anything other than functional so learning to declutter has already made a big impact (i finally got to a point last week where i was happy that i'd got rid of most of my clutter - some of my husband's boxes still to go...)
I haven't been able to source the cure book from an Australian source - but do have a copy of the other one. Where did you get yours? Was hoping not have to wait for Amazon...

Hi Australia! Good luck on the Spring Cure. It's great to have a place for local voices and let us know how it works for you.
Hey, Jo, let us know when yours arrives and if you ask your local bookstore they should stock it for you and others in the future.

I got mine from a local bookstore - they ordered it in. It took about 2 weeks.

Hi everyone,
I'm Phillippa. I've taken part in The Cure before, the last time about 18 months ago, fueled by pregnancy nesting urges! I'm not feeling particularly motivated right now (recovering from wisdom teeth removal last week-ouch!) but I already have the book and the house could do with a bit of a clean. :-)
I'm setting myself the challenge of doing a deep clean and making a few small changes all for free (or at least for minimal dollars), in line with our current family budget. I'm going old school, writing things down in a notebook - no blog for me, but I might muster up the energy to post a few pictures. ;-)
I live in a tiny old house in coastal NSW with my husband and two rowdy toddlers.

I'm so excited there's an Australia board :)
I'm in Melbourne in a one storey Victorian terrace house. It's falling apart; kitchen floor slopes about 30 cms down, holes in the wooden floor in the kitchen, big cracks through the ceiling and walls. But there's not much I can do about the structure as I'm renting it and really I don't mind :) As long as it doesn't fall down on top of me.
I've lived here with my partner for a year and I still haven't unpacked all of my boxes. What I'm wanting to get out of the cure is a clarification of my belongings - I don't want to look at something and get in a sour mood becuse I don't like it, an organised set up that's easy to tidy and the confidence to put the couch somewhere other than against the wall!

How is everyone going?
My motivation kicked in last week and I've been working through my list of jobs pretty steadily for the last few days. When it all gets too much I sit down with my AT book, an Easter egg and a cup of tea! :-)
I did a few things in the kitchen. I washed the tops of the cupboards and my "Display Corningware" (ha ha) and I cleaned the oven (I used bicarb soda, vinegar and elbow grease: there's my 2 cents on that contentious topic).
I cleaned the TV cabinet and the cabinet where we keep our computer and office stuff and my husband even got in on the act, washing down all of our windows, inside and out.
We bought new blinds for the bedroom - previously one window had the original, plastic, mouldy roller blind and the other was bare. Now they are covered in lovely fresh, clean calico romans- so motivating that I cleaned the bedroom from top to bottom this morning. Who knew bed frames could get so dusty? All the bedding is in the dryer as I type (it's rainy here). I can't wait to remake the bed and snuggle up tonight! :-)
Next up it's children's bedrooms (organising toys...groan) and the bathroom.
I'm going well - hope you all are too!

Hi,
I am renting an old 3 bedroom 1955 beach cottage in Western Australia 3 blocks from a place called locally as Palm Beach near Pt. Peron. It's semi renovated with polished floorboards and ceiling fans. It has 1950s light fittings and the paint job is fairly recent. A pale aqua and white. It has an enclosed front porch, a very large patio and a massive back yard, and I'm slowly growing flowers and herbs. I do a massive cleaning job every 3 months for rental inspection. It is a pain, but I know it keeps jobs like cleaning exhaust fans and venetians done. I'm slowly interior decorating mainly from thrift shops as I am on a strict and limited budget. As I live on my own, I have a main bedroom I use the other two bedrooms as a utility storage room and the other as a dressing room. It has massive ceiling to floor inbuilt wardrobes as does the utility room. The outside looks pretty dreary, but the inside has a nice feel to it and I have loads of space for one person. The kitchen is so big I use one end as a craft bench. I'll post pics soon.I have several DIY projects such as painting some old drinks trolleys and a display cabinet. I'm a vintage collector and as you will see by my photos, they are part of the decor.
