The Bubble Calendar

0708bubblecalendar.jpgLeft alone with a sheet of bubble wrap, we'd suspect 9 out of 10 people would eventually fall to the enticing allure of the tactile pleasure and satisfying sound of popping bubble wrap. Something about those darn plastic bubbles beckon our fingers to compulsively squeeze...

Taking advantage of this psychological desire, the creators of the Bubble Calendar offer a date reminder which owners are likely sure to remember to mark off daily...and with satisfaction. Available in both horizontal and vertical versions, and backed on clear acetate or on white paper, the real danger in owning one of these is skipping ahead and popping all the days in one sitting (this wouldn't be a safe bet in a household with children).

ooo neat!! but yeah, i'd probably pop them all in the first two minutes... then in the days to come i'd feel too guilty to even look at it.
but that's such a cute idea!

I have to agree with akostalas on this one. I could see making one of these if I bought something that came in bubble wrap packaging, thereby saving it from the landfill for at least a while longer. But I can't see buying one of these just to use as a calendar. Seems wasteful.

Non-recyclable if popped. There's another post where you can donate your unpopped bubble wrap to reuse as packing materials again, either that or it has to be Sealed AirĀ® air cellular cushioning material returned to the manufacturer. Even then it is not really clear if they will take popped bubbles or just bubble wrap you're not going to use yourself. They only appear to take their brand, though.
