New CB2 Opens
Los Angeles

043009-cb01.jpgFinally, it's here! After months of rumours and waiting, CB2 opens today, their first store in Southern California. Yesterday morning we got to take a sneak peek at the new store. The beautifully designed space, a sprawling 13,800 square feet on first floor of the Sunset Five complex on Crescent Heights and Santa Monica, is barely recognizable as the old Virgin Megastore...

The scene last night as the store welcomes its first customers.
This weekend, in honour of their arrival, a percentage of sales will be donated to the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank. Call us old school but there's something about a bricks and mortar store, about being able to touch something or pick it up. We were as happy to reacquaint ourselves with some of our old favorites...

...as to become familiar with some of the other products, old and new, we'd never seen in person. We can foresee spending a lot of time here.

Finally! I've had my eyes on some chairs at CB2 but I didn't want to buy them until I could sit in them. I know what I'll be doing Saturday.

I was there last night as well. Great space, and lovely things.
I wasn't to happy with the giftbag....4 colorful butterfly shaped plates is not something that will go with my decor.

Are you able to purchase in-stock furniture at the store? I was planning to order some planters but I will be making the drive to the store if it saves the shipping cost!

I was having a bad day but completely perked up when i remembered they opened yesterday. Enjoyed the new space but the parking situation is bogus...an hour long validation? If you can get in and out of there in an hour...more power to you. And the parking guys are nasty too.
