LA Holiday Decor?

121206holidaycolor.jpg
We've noticed a ton of color options this year in terms of holiday decor. Stores everywhere are offering a wide selection of unconventional hues for such a traditional laden season. We're curious, what colors are you using for your holiday decor? Also, we'd love to see how you're decorating your homes this year. Is it traditional? modern? a little of both? Please send us some pictures and we'll post our favorites so they can inspire all of us! or just tag your flickr photos with "apartmenttherapyla".

My apartment is definitely in the "other" category: pretty much everything except metallics and red.

We usually do burgundies and burnished golds for the holidays, but I'm really craving something a bit fresher, so this year we went with a silver-and-white scheme with a few apple-green accents. My family is grumbling a bit (they're creatures of habit), but I think it's sparkly and wintery and lovely.

My Mom is so excited about Christmas dinner that I went to her house for a visit last week and she had already set the dining table. She has a new set of dishes that are white with a red-orange coral pattern on them and she bought chocolate brown silk runners with coral berries embroidered on them. It was kind of different from her more traditional Christmas dishes, but quite pretty.

I am usually afraid of color in my everyday decor and wardrobe, but the holidays is when I let loose! :) I LOVE colors during the holidays so I have color everywhere: lights, ornaments, doormat, wrapping paper, etc. I don't do the matchy matchy thing...I love the holidays and I can't restraint from just a couple color palettes. I do love white lights wrapped around trees in the front yard though.

Acid green and cherry red with a little kelly green in the mix.
The effect is not NOt your ordinary "Ho Hum" Red and Green!
At least I enjoy it :)

I don't do the xmas thing, but in a nod to my husband who loves the holiday, I bought a bunch of those glass ornaments in gold and bronze with glittery designs on them, and put them into a thick walled bowl from poland on the table as a centerpiece. I might add a string of lights to brighten it up.

That's all we do. Oh, and the menorah comes out on Friday. But that's different.

I've done mine with stylish...but very cheaply! I wrapped it in 25 cent ribbon that was on sale at IKEA this year....bright green, light blue, pink and orange...with a $2 paper garland from Michaels crafts that has just multi colour shimmery dots and silver glitter circles on it.......with clear big bulb lights from last years Target 90% off X-mas clearance...where I picked up my tree for $1.99!

It looks cute...and makes me feel all xmas-y

White, red, silver. Sometimes chartreuse on the packages.

Different shades of gold and green mostly, with bits of red here and there. But i'm not done and there's a lot of grat new stuff out in stores.

If I could start over and didn't have a toddler to deal with, I'd be doing the black and white and silver decor that seems so fresh and unexpected, but still very festive.

Blue and white, but really only because those are the colors the hannukah candles came in at the supermarket.
