So Valentine's Day has come and gone (phew!). Although the best gift is simply spending meaningful and devoted time together, let's be frank, the holiday definitely comes with gift giving expectations. It's a great time to get the apple of your eye something for both the home and heart. Me? I got my partner in crime a yogurt maker she's been eyeing for awhile now, the much coveted and hard to find Target dutch oven, and a collectible doll; she in turn got me the whole boxed set of The Thin Man series (score!). How about yourself...something utilitarian or sentimental? What did you give, treat yourself to, or receive? Regardless, remember the best things in life aren't things.

Yah! people who actually celebrate Valentines day with the exchange of gifts...and not just flowers and candy either.
I thought I was the last of the bunch. We had to postpone v-day till today. The dude's back in school till late on mon/wed. stay tuned
the mister and i both called in and played hooky on valentines day. :)
It was a whoooole lot of snuggling, napping, comfort fooding, and sci-fi movie watching!
Hubby got a bottle of hot sauce and some spicy popcorn and my boy got a bag of wasabi peas (which he was thrilled about, for real) and some hot chocolate mix and a goofy helium balloon with ladybugs on it -- and chocolate of course!
i gave my dude a handmade comic book, an embroidered guitar strap for our show tonight (http://nooworks.com/blackforest/shop.php?section=Guitar%20Straps), a Jenny Smith 2007 Calendar/Poster (http://buyoly.com/i/lo_jenniesmith2007_1_lg.jpg) and cute magnets.
he got me a Lemnos wall clock (http://www.parklifestore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PLS&Product_Code=WALLCLOCK&Category_Code=HO) and Marcel Dzama sad ghost salt and pepper shakers (http://www.velocityartanddesign.com/ca_dzama_sadsp.html)
I got dinner and a book intitled "All About Us" were we sat and filled out our memories.
I got dinner and a book intitled "All About Us" were we sat and filled out our memories. He got a homemade all vegan chocolate raspberry cake.
My honey gave me a digital tire pressure gauge...engraved "My love for you will never go flat."
I love that man.
On Monday evening and into Tuesday morning, we were recipients of a snow-ice storm, rendering us to wake up late, snuggled warmly under a thick, down comforter.
My honey made me an amazing brunch and the rest of the day was spent in pajamas, and cuddling.
