Survey: Do you make your bed?

02-07-messy-bed-.jpgWe make our bed every morning. Besides looking better, we have convinced ourselves that it starts our day out on the right foot.

Some people treat their “make your bed” nagging from childhood like a Viet Nam flashback and refuse to do it. Some people have a made bed once a week (when the maid comes). Some people think it’s okay to sometimes leave the bed unmade so as to prove a certain joie de vivre. We don’t agree. What do you think?

I used to make the bed every day -- and then we got the Second Cat, who thinks it's her territory. Someday, she'll settle in and I can have a presentable bedroom again.

Someday.

I cook, I don't clean.
I might fluff the duvet out flat - does that count?

Everyday. 'Cause Martha says so.

ugh.... i'm so notorious for not making the bed. But i do admit that there's nothing like climbing into a crisp cool bed on a warm night... i'm bad. i really should make my bed.... like enrique pointed out.. like martha.. everyday. I guess it keeps the bugs out too..

I make my bed every day because I need an island of sanity in the sea of activity. I don't rebel against it; I embrace it. Sometimes I put all the pillows on; sometimes I don't. But knowing that the pillows, feather bed and duvet have been shaken and fluffed makes getting in that much more personalized and invited. Sometimes I pray while I make the bed, for blessings, peace, and joy for those who sleep there.

I was hoping to check a box that said "When my mother comes to visit" or better yet, "When a male suitor approaches."

Am I the only person who doesn't really ever make her bed and yet wants others to think she always does?

I read that it's actually healthier to leave your bed unmade. It airs out the sheets...perfect for me.

I even make the bed before I have my coffee! My bed is right inside my apt. door so I make sure it's presentable at all times. Besides, there are so many pillows on my bed that I have to take off at night that I HAVE to make the bed just to get them out of the way during the day. Also, I like the way a nicely made bed looks.

Ever since our home was broken into, and the bedrooms trashed, I have made it a point to make my bed everyday. It give me comfort to walk by my bedroom and see it all tidy and neat!
