Good Questions: Where Can I Find a Desk Similar To This One?

atla-052008-goodquestions01.jpgRyan writes:
I usually transform a closet into an office space, but since I am redoing my room I want something that will go with the modern organic feel of the room. I am searching for a small, simple desk like this one that isn't deeper than 24" and no wider than roughly 60"

When we saw your inspirational picture, our first thought was a desk we've always liked at Williams Sonoma Home. They've got two versions of the Mason, the Wood Topped version and the Glass Topped version, both of which update the trestle top by nickel-plating the usual wooden legs. However, both versions at 62 x 36 may be a little larger than you're looking for. Another simple desk we always liked is the West Elm parsons desk. A great small desk that comes in a variety of colors. Pottery Barn has an Architect's Desk which is on sale. The Dolce Dark Walnut Desk from Target is another, inexpensive option. Anyone else have any recommendations for Ryan?

We bought the Crate & Barrel version recently and are very pleased with it. Good quality and design for the price.

I have this simple "Shaker" style beech desk from stacksandstacks.com:

It's seen six years hard use and it's held up beautifully. That drawer, however, is a keyboard drawer, so if you're a laptop person, it's extraneous.

Yup, its the spotlight desk from Crate & Barrel, we have it and it's great, not too big/too small. Heres a pic in our house for scale...
