Legare Furniture

feature_01a.jpgWe've all experienced the frustration that comes with trying to put together "ready to assemble" furniture. More often than not, you find you're missing that one tiny screw, or have the wrong tool. This becomes even more annoying if, say you have to move, and take the whole thing apart. Well, AT Reader Howard just tipped us off to Legare Furniture. "Legare" in italian means "to connect or join." Legare Furniture offers a revolutionary line of shelving, media centers, and desks that require no tools, hardware, or headache to put together. They're calling it "FTA", or "Fun to assemble."

Indeed, upon going to their website, I was really impressed with their demonstration video. It shows how simple the pieces are to put together, and in fact, an entire desk was put together in 3 minutes! They come in a variety of styles, and configurations. This would be a perfect piece (or graduation gift?) for someone who is in a more "temporary" living situation, such as a dorm or short term rental. Storage and mobility are also ideal, since the pieces are flat and no other tools are required. Check out their website for more info.

I'm a believer in the Legare furniture concept ... I purchased a couple of their desks and they are absolutely amazing! Talk about FUN to assemble ... It took me less time (2 minutes) to set-up my desk than it did to unpack the beautiful eco-friendly birch plywood panels from the shipping carton!

Brilliant!
I made two drawer units for my "desk" many many years ago( throw any sized piece of plywood that'll fit the space and viola, instant "custom" furniture, lol!--and my stepfather a night-table with this slide together concept.
Of course our furniture isn't anywhere near as classy looking--but what a fabulous concept it is!

Great concept but I don't have the patience for assembling. I ordered my reach-in closet online at Speedy Closets and the cabinets came pre-assembled.

I love the look and feel of Legare Furniture, which have a clean, polished exterior and a lovely grain. The "carbonized" finish is produced by a non-toxic kiln process. Best of all, this green furniture is manufactured using one of the world’s most sustainable resources.
