Court-Pawn Tables at Crate & Barrel

041107court.jpg

Checkmate! An easy way to add instant warmth to any space is to bring a natural element in, such as wood. We love these "court-pawn" tables. The shapes are a modern interpretation of chess pieces. They are made of kiln-dried mango wood and are lathe carved. The round shapes provide tons of options, and are perfect for small spaces. Use them as extra seating, or group a few together for versatile table scenarios. $219 each, available here. (via Better Living Through Design)

How does mango wood hold up in wet rooms? I'm really liking the bishop table as a stool to hold a towel and book by the tub.

I like. If anyone has any sources for something similar but much cheaper, I'm all ears.

Love mango wood. Love these pieces. Prices seem comparable from what I've seen around at shops and online ($150-225 for pieces this size). mjoe: Keep in mind these are solid wood pieces.
