We are obsessed with bar carts. We don't know why really- maybe it's the life- long fantasy to live in an M.G.M. world where people dress for dinner, and a cocktail is always ready at 5.
We don't think the bar cart need just be used for holding bottles and decanters, and have often thought that good stacked art books and some nice displayed trinkets would work too.
This Hanover Bar Cart ($649) is from Restoration Hardware and has beveled glass shelves and is made with nickle plated brass.

Swank-tastic! Love it.
I am nuts over bar carts. any other suggestions besides restoration hardware? i even thought about getting a small bar built in an alcove in my living room. I once read an article in the new york times where this guy said everyone should have a bar in their apartment. i agree. anyways, any suggestions of others? I liked the restoration hardware one but looking to see others before i make a purchase.
I think I have bar cart lust, but I can't figure out how I could incorporate one into my small apartment. I'd like to use one to alternate as a cockail station in the evening and perhaps an espresso area other times, but I have visions of the cat slamming into or leaping up on it and knocking everything over. I know I'll sound horribly naive asking, but are there small bar carts/cabinet type units that would maybe work? Is it possible to get the sleek open look and mobility of a bar cart with the added security for items that a cabinet offers?
I am nuts over bar carts too tash. But the price on this one $670, kinda makes me wish I'd just bought this gorgeous antique one I saw a year ago in chelsea that was about $1,000. Not that much more expensive and so much cooler. Maybe it's still there...
I imagine that we have found this site because we are looking for a bar cart. Who, like me, wouldn't take Restoration Hardware's Hanover cart in a second...if...it weren't for the price? It looks fabulous, but not quite worth $750 (that is after shipping and tax). Has anyone found one almost as nice but for less money?? Thanks.
