Occa 674 table by BoConcept

If you caught Maxwell's appearance on Oprah, you might recall seeing the neat table that Nate featured in his dual purpose furniture segement. The Occa 674 table by BoConcept keeps your clutter inside, as opposed to on top. This clever table has two panels that lift up to provide storage, but they also function as trays for dinner, or as a writing surface for a convenient desk.

The piece that does not lift up is actually covered in a sheet of grey glass. It comes in 5 different finishes and retails for around $800. A great option for those that they end up using their coffee tables for more than just a place to rest their coffee.

I think it's perfect, and would love it in a dining table version, has anyone seen such a table?

This table is EXACTLY what i was looking for, except for one tiny little detail: it's too expensive! does anyone know of a similar table that's less than 250? I love that it has both the area that can convert to a writing desk and a storage area as well. its perfect!

The section of the table with the glass also opens up with a more traditional hinge movement and can also be used for storage. I currently have one on order. Yes, a bit expensive but will suit my needs perfectly.

I also considered this table and was able to look at it in person at the Houston, TX BoConcept store. I love the functionality of it, but like most of the stuff at the store, it looked very cheaply veneered. I was surprised that for such expensive stuff, a lot of it looked like it was of worse quality than Ikea, for 3-4 times the price of Ikea.
