AimeeRoo's got big plans for this bedroom

This Week's Assignment: Get your hands on a copy of the book and read through page 69. You can also determine if you'll be working on the One Room Workout or a Deep Treatment of your whole home.

For the Deep Treatment:
This week is all about gaining some momentum and breathing some life into your home. How do we do this? We start by mopping or vacuuming the floors, buying ourselves flowers and taking one thing out of the house and putting it out on the street. Once you've made some space for yourself, start collecting inspiration for your style tray.

For the One Room Workout:
You guys get to hone in and focus on just one room which means you get to spend more time on what we call the frosting: the decorating, coordinating and planning of a whole room. So this is the week to figure out what room you want to work on, what your budget is, and start collecting inspiration. Check out some of the past home tours for inspiration. Or we've even tagged a bunch of our posts 'inspiration' and that might be a good jumping off point.

No matter which one you choose, remember to use us as a resource, ask us questions, ask for help, be nice to yourself and your home. You don't have to do it all at once, just do what you can of each week's assignments and you'll be making great progress!

I'm missing from the list still... but I just signed up last night.

I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. I just finished one major project, which will help me get one large object out of my apartment (selling is like putting something out on the street but better, right?) but I have two more that are physically and mentally in the way of me doing any overall organizing.

Oh how fun! That's my bedroom. :)

I just blogged about my first week. I was able to do everything but buy flowers... but I have some plants inside that are blooming right now so I feel like I have the spirit of the task taken care of.

I've also chosen to do the Deep Treatment. I found the cord to my camera, so I plan to post pictures this weekend. I did not do any picking up or staging when the pics were taken, so you can get a sense of how bad my current storage "solutions" are.

I also plan to Scooba the floors.

I plan to buy some of those CFC lightbulbs and flowers this weekend.

I'm also making the switch to non-clay kitty litter.

Bunny,

Try Feline Fresh. It's made of pine, it clumps and is compostable (ick?) and FLUSHABLE. (It's also about 15$ for a giant bag, unlike Swheat scoops which is like a million dollars for a small bag)

No more garbage full of fecal matter! It's changed my life!

I also want to know what software 17seconds used to create that plan!

I'm doing a modified two room cure. My bathroom/vanity area and the bedroom. I need to upload my pictures to flicker. I'm working on a tight budget and with out the abilty to paint, but hopefully I'll be able to make some big changes to both areas with new window treatments. I'm also participating in thekitcn Cure that starts next week. So it should be a busy and exciting time. At some point I'll have to tackle my living room, but I'm just not ready for that yet.

Hey Laure, I don't like writing in books - are there printouts of the style questions and the checklists?

So far:
- I got daffodils for $1.29 at Trader Joe's!
- Cath. Charities did a pickup of junk my husband had accepted from his parents (that problem requires a different kind of therapy!) that was taking up huge amounts of room in my garage.
- I did my "Jan-Feb-March Jumpstart" project to use Howards Restore a Finish on my mom's dining set that takes up half my garage and put it on Craigslist. No luck yet but I've had some calls! Anyone want a solid oak dining set?
- I already use Ecover products in my house.
- I've got a neighborhood association list set up so that we can order special air filters from Home Depot so my house won't be so dusty.
- I've got to do all this on a budget of next to nothing, so I'm going to consolidate my credit card bills and refi my house so my bills aren't so high to mitigate the stress that having a home creates.
- I feel like I'm forgetting something but I think I made a good start!
