i loved Pepe's when i lived on the westside of town many years ago and was sad to leave him. imagine my surprise to find him on sunset blvd in the silver lake/echo park area!! oh happy day...

I think St. Vincent's is past its prime. Sometimes Deseret Industries on Soto has something, but not very often. The Huntington Collection in Pasadena can be good, esp. for sofas. Boys and Girls Club of Venice, and some of the Jewish Council of Women stores.

But I think most of the "antique stores", unless they're really high end, are too expensive for old junk.

Pepe's on sunset blvd is teeming with hipsters...lol
Most of these vintage places are ridiculously (?) overpriced (that goes especially for Wells Overpriced Tile and almost all the lil Echo Park "re-done vintage" stores around it).

Revival, a little shop across the street from St. V De P, is usually spot on, and well-priced.

Hernandez brothers on Melrose just moved into a new larger location and is great.
