Speaking of getting away, just looking at all these tiles makes us feel a million miles away. Here are some more encaustic, or cement, tiles that inspire a relaxing, far-away feeling:
Tile Vault: Villa Lagoon
Villa Lagoon Tile is a company based out of Florida. They started as a reaction to the lack of a real durable tile that would outlast a hurricane. Dipping into a centuries old tradition of making concrete tiles, they updated the designs to reflect a 'coastal aesthetic'. Um, we love it.
We also didn't know that encaustic tiles are 'green':
"Cement tile is a green product, created using basic earth components and a centuries old method. They are colored with natural pigments and do not give off any fumes at all. Minimum energy, except human 'elbow grease', is used to make our cement tiles."
