“Shark” Protects Your Fingers While Hammering

062608shark01.jpgUse a hammer long enough and you're bound to one day miss the mark and "nail" one of your fingers or thumb instead. Designer Matthias Pinkert designed the ingenious "Shark", which looks strikingly like a staple removed, to prevent errant strikes to the wrong target...

062608shark02.jpgThe other bonus of using the Shark is that it keeps your nails or screws perfectly aligned, so you don't end up with the Leaning Nail of Pisa. Let's hope this concept makes it to the market soon...we'd gladly add it to our toolbox.

that's a quirky little thing. i'd get it for a handyman as a gag gift, but i can't imagine it being a real go-to item.

My Ikea wardrobes came with a much smaller one of these, and it came in handy.

Is there an invention out there to prevent one's husband from destroying his thumb while breaking up ceramic tile with a hammer?
