via Point Click Home

32609-trend06.jpgWhat's shown at Maison & Objet, the twice-yearly home furnishings show in Paris, is often a harbinger of what we'll be obsessing about for our homes in the months to come. Pat Bouley, Point Cick Home's style scout, highlights the five trends she spotted (can we say that we're definitely having an 80s flashback?). Details, examples and links, after the jump...

32609-trend01.jpgAfrican Influence - We've been jonesing to go to Africa so this trend is definitely one that speaks to us...

32609-trend02.jpgCitrus Palette - Is it the neon influence of the 80s that sparks this trend? We don't know but we do know we've been having a sudden affection for lime green, lemon yellow and our perennial favorite, bright orange...

32609-trend03.jpgIndustrial Chic - from the first time we lugged home a shopping cart and a rusty stop sign to decorate our first apartment in NY, this is a look we've loved. Check out the latest incarnations...

32609-trend04.jpgFrench Romantic - Chandeliers, cut velvet upholstery, silk upholstery, chandeliers dripping with crystal, these are items for the modern fop in us all...

32609-trend05.jpgCorsage - That cluster of flowers that was the focus of your high school prom is the influence for this trend with posies immortalized in fabric, felt and other fabrics and thickly plastered on objects from towels to our favorite Tord Boontje's "A Little Field of Flowers" rug...

I think we'll see KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON written out in green via a vertical garden, several stories high, on the side of the new silver tinted Sears Tower.

Yes, we will.

Now being serious I see more and more fabric coming out that are more honest fibers like the old days of textile making, more solids, more intricate weaves, basic colors- blue, red, flax, green, browns.

The citrus is everywhere now, the yellow is getting better, at least better than Mimosa yellow.

Another movement I am seeing is simple surface materials like concrete.
