Interactive LED Dining Table Reacts to Diner's Movement

071309LEddiningtable2.jpgThe prototype example is a bit LiteBrite garish, but we're still wowed by this Interactive LED Dining Table, which combines 448 LED with a motion sensing system. The system is a dining table that is part furniture, part interactive artwork and a little bit of mood lighting thrown into the mix. Check out all the details and a free downloadable PDF (or link to purchase a pre-made version) over at Unplggd.

I like the concept but would prefer less Easter-ish lights.

Golly, I think this is the worst idea I've ever seen.

I liked it better when Ingo Maurer did it:

I think I prefer my furniture to glower in the dark. (NOT glow!)

It looks like the dance floor from Saturday Night Fever....or something that would be in a coked out movie from the 80's.
