Look! Using Real Bamboo As a Wall

041309_bamboostudio.jpgWe're guessing if you feel like you're working in paradise, work somehow becomes paradise. We can't really attest if that's really true ourselves (our walls are a nice dark cream color that reminds us more of a bar of chocolate than a tropical vacationing environment), but with a serene lighting scheme and real bamboo walls harvested from his own backyard...

While the bamboo looks really nice, I would hesitate to use it in places like NYC where we have eaten at restaurants that have used bamboo inside the restaurant and roaches pop in and out - they love bamboo!

@AT4H: you could simply just foam-spray fill the ends, preventing entry to address you valid NYC concern (maybe add some pest bait inside, just to play double duty).

Tx Gregory. However, we have the dreaded Norwegian rats, which apart from being able to tread water for up to 3 days no problem, there's also The Power of Rat Teeth: The jaws of a rat can exert pressures of 24,000 lbs per square inch, and rats can readily chew through plastic water pipes, bone, irrigation systems and garbage cans, wood boxes, dry wall, and even cinder block. On the international "hardness index" rat teeth = 5.5, while iron = 4.0, copper = 2.5-3.0, aluminum = 2.0 , and lead = 1.5. Rat teeth grow about 5 inches a year, and rats with mis-aligned jaws have been know to pierce their own brain cases with their incisors.

Getting Rid of Rats: It is is almost impossible to rid an area of rats by poison and traps alone.

Trust me, bamboo is like tearing tissue paper for them!
