So a little update on the fridge situation I was having yesterday:

I called all over the place and finally got in touch with Allen and Sons Appliance Repair in Marina Del Rey and they said someone could come out between 1-4pm. (Seriously who has time for that?) Then that guy got into a car accident and my scheduled time got moved to between 4-7 (Seriously how much did I want to kill someone at that point?) Then that guy was running late so he showed up at 7:30. But the bottom line, he was able to get the fan working in the fridge so that it would circulate the cold air. I only had to pay for labor ($130) and it's good for thirty days so if it breaks again I don't have to pay.

All in all I'd say I would recommend them to westsiders, I think it was a fluke that the other guy got in an accident and they were the only people that could schedule me same day. The repair guy (Dave! A Russian Guy!) couldn't have been nicer after what was surely a super long day for him.

Laure, the late Margo Kaufman observed in This Damn House! that, in Venice, the best fridge repairmen were Russian -- and that was in the early 90s. Some things haven't changed!
