We've posted about chalkboard paint before, but perhaps you're looking for something a bit less permanent and involved in terms of application. Chalkboard Decals work in the same way as graphic wall decals, except with these, you can draw on them like a traditional chalkboard...
Each set includes four 9" x 12" UV printed vinyl panels that can be removed and repositioned on any smooth surface, including walls, metallic and wood surfaces. Panels are available in slate gray or schoolhouse green. We'd imagine it would be fun to cover a whole half-bathroom from floor to ceiling with these (only because we think our friends would leave the most amusing/entertaining comments).
these could be fun!

I love this. I've always wanted to play around with chalkboard paint but feared it would make my apartment look like a daycare. this is a pretty sophisticated way to execute. has anyone ever used the magnetic paint? it's usually in the store right next to the chalkboard paint. it'd be great to have a magnetic/chalkboard decal but that might be asking too much!

Oooh, with these, you could get a sheet of stainless steel (I think?) that they use for construction, pop some decals on it, frame it, and you've got a lovely magnetic chalkboard!

Stainless is normally not magnetic...

I bought these and used them to cover the front of the freezer door on my fridge -- love them! They went on easy, they are easy to write on and get completely clean. I've had them since Sept. and they are sticking well. Really good product.

Vinyl is a nasty substance that you wouldn't want in yr home if you knew what was in it, what you breathed in as a result of being around it, and what the workers who create it have to endure.

when I was a kid I got a sheet of galvanized sheet steel from the hardware store and had them drill some holes in the stop corners to string a ribbon through. I guess you could put the decal on one of those. the concept of doing it giant seems so fun.
