For most of us who rent the site of a refrigerator in our kitchen is normally just plain ugly. There are some options to making your fridge look some what cool. You can spray it with appliance spray paint in a fun color (like kelly green or robins egg blue) or try chalk board paint, or if you want to spend a little time and money try wallpapering it.
While I was on Domino's Blog I came across this great "how to" that Nick Olson posted on the Time Out website. And for and added bonus - if you live in New York, you can actually hire Nick to come out and wallpaper your fridge.

I am not in love with electrical tape idea as I think it would start to peal off.
For wallpaper ideas visit Walnut Wallpaper, Flavor Paper, or check out ebay for some great vintage prints.
And if any of our AT readers try this please send in pics, we would love to see some finished projects.
I dunno about this. It's a little busy-looking for my taste. It looks like something I would've tried in my first apartment in college. But, now as an adult with different taste, it looks very "Design on a Dime".

I agree. Maybe it's just the example in the photos, this looks kinda cheap and tacky.

I also think it looks way too busy. However, it might work in a space that isn't already so cluttered. That SLOW sign is quite ironic--there's so much going on that your eye doesn't know where to rest!

I sorta like the 70s vibe from the wallpaper.

Well, here are two other examples that I showed on my blog, http://shelterhome.blogspot.com/search?q=refrigerator
Please note Nick's own floral covered fridge as shown in Domino magazine.

Well, I think the last thing I'd want to do is draw attention to my fridge. I'd rather draw attention away from it.

i also think the fridge papering is a bit much, but i think that the black trimming on the cabinets really improves the look of them. it takes the eye away from that ugly wood trim on them. i agree about the potential for electric tape to peel, but lab tape, used in research labs, is meant to stick well and come off without much, if any, residue. it comes in a myriad of colors and is about the same width as electrical tape. if my cabinets looked so bad, i'd try it!

I have to agree with most of the other people. I think it looks a little tacky and cheap. I would prefer a solid color and perhaps a dark color like black. A black fridge in this kitchen would look more appealing.
