Palm Springs Vacation Rentals

072108_palm.jpgAs Grace noted, there are some options out there for getaways. We've rounded up our favorite Desert Getaways already, but thought the whole area of Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs deserved another look: this time, houses you can rent with a bunch of friends:

072108_palm1.jpgThe Martini House located a couple of miles from Downtown Palm Springs, the house has 4 bedrooms, a pool and hot tub and runs about $500/night.

072108_vibe.jpgThe Vibe House has 5 bedrooms and is totally updated and modern (not to mention awesome). There's a heated pool and spa and more flatscreens than you can count. This one's a bit more at around $600/night.

072108_wexler.jpgRent A Wexler that's been totally updated and restored. It's a 3 bedroom going for about $250/night.

072108_roadhouse.jpgThe WIlliams Roadhouse in Indian Wells is a 3 bedroom decked out in danish modern furniture, has a pool and is nestled up near the mountains for a super quiet and private stay. Runs $350/night.

Have you rented a place that you'd like to rave about? In Palm springs or anywhere else within driving distance of LA? Please do share (we're looking for something at the end of September, before we hunker down for 'winter').

Sure, Palm Springs in August. What could be better, esp. as Hell is getting so crowded.

Wow, that Wexler house requires a $215 departure cleaning fee and a $49 damage deposit PER RENTAL? Jeez!

I found this company while trying to find a substitute for the now-defunct La Mancha. I rented from this company in February and my friends and I had an amazing long weekend in celebration of my 30th birthday. The reservations agents are very friendly and helpful. We found a broken closet door upon arrival and management dispatched someone immediately to repair it. I will be renting from them again!

My husband and I, and 5 friends just rented a home this past weekend in Palm Springs! I included the link below to the rental.

The house was a beautifully restored Wexler home that had a great mix of Ikea and vintage Mid-Century furniture, complete with original artwork (both Palm Springs and Rat Pack themed, naturally) in every room. It was spotless, well taken care of, and even had music playing and the air conditioning on when we arrived. Although we were near the airport, I heard a plane maybe once over the course of 3 days.

While the temperature reached 110 degrees, we still had a wonderful time. The pool stayed nice and cool, and with plenty of sunblock we even visited the Living Desert Museum (a zoo of desert animals) on Saturday morning. We were treated to a brief thunder/rainstorm on Sunday morning that added to the atmosphere.

We all had a wonderful time and agreed this should be a yearly tradition.
