Look! ASCII Code curtains by Nienke Sybrandy

We always have loved the silhouette of the tree outside our house on the curtains. Every morning it's so beautiful to see the shadows it makes. When we saw this print on these curtains, we thought this would be a fun idea for those that don't happen to have a real tree outside. We were surprised to see what it really is made up of...

The "tree" is actually composed of ASCII code! Found via Freshhome, it's designed by Dutch designer Nienke Sybrandy. "ASCII-Code curtains visualize the information network in a tree, using the very codes that represent text in computers, communications equipment, and other devices that work with text."

We used a large piece of Marimekko fabric (the tuuli in white on white) hung taught in between two birch branches as our bathroom decor to bring an illusion of the outdoors to a confined space. I suspect it would look quite lovely as curtains! Here it is grey on white (white on white doesn't read well online...)
