The first picture was the one that clinched it for us. We'd moseyed over to LakeBDesign/FergusandMe's Flickr after spotting a few shots on the Apartment Therapy LA Group Pool Flickr page and then we saw it. Unusual and unexpected combinations of colour are our personal swooning point; the green West Elm Parsons desk against the Farrow & Ball blue wall was elegant in a way that left us speechless. This is a little larger than our usual house call; there were so many luscious vignettes in LakBDesigns/FergusandMe's gracious home that we had a hard time choosing among them.
Here Ikea mixes with fine antiques and upscale pieces (love the Barbara Barry sofas!) in a setting that is traditional with a humourous twist of colour that is unique. This is a home we'd enjoy visiting, it's also a home we like to see more of!

This is lovely, and I'm not just saying that because the colours are so close to the ones I chose for my own place! ;)
Actually, the dining room looks to be the exact colour I JUST finished painting in my bedroom. How cool!
Lovely!! My attention was immediately drawn to the mirrors- any suggestions on places to find mirrors similar to the two shown in this post? They are exactly what I need in my bathroom, I've been looking for months...
Holy moley. This looks insanely gorgeous, but also like a live person lives here. It's like a Martha photo come to life. I feel pretty good about my first apartment, considering I'm also a law student without a trust to fund my decorating, but this puts me to shame. Also, inspires great amounts of envy. I love that blue on the walls. As soon as I can paint my rooms, that is the color. It's so pretty it's making me feint.
Nice, but it kinda looks like they raided the Wisteria catalog.
Oh house tour pretty please!
Beautiful! I want color but I don't want it to scream at me when I walk into a room. This is a great example of the color layering that I'd like to achieve in my home. I don't have the same fabulous architectual details as this home, but I'll certainly be looking over the photos in more detail for inspiration.
This makes my heart beat quick. More, please!
I don't love everything (it's a little cutesy for me), but I adore the wallpaper in the kid's room! what is it?

if you're in la, there's a place on robertson, just about 2 blocks north of national (around David) on the east side of the street, that has similar mirrors. They display some examples of them outside when they're open so even though i can't give you an exact address, it should be pretty easy to find.

abby! i completely missed this. yikes.
fyi all: nothing from wisteria. kids' room 'wallpaper' is actually fabric - oilcloth - from john lewis in the uk. mirror in first photo is from ballard designs, other mirror is 1920s venetian from an auction. thanks, all :)
