Lance Armstrong's 448 Acre Texan Ranch

Celebrities...They're NOT Like Us

We're heading out to Texas in the near future, hopefully making our way down over to Austin (we'll be visiting Emily's family in San Antonio) for some good ole BBQ if we get our way. Maybe we can finagle a house tour from one of our favourite sports heroes, Lance Armstrong, whose impressive abode just west of Austin in Dripping Springs (the very same one Grace had you all guessing about when Architectural Digest did a feature about the Armstrong ranch), complete with a nearby swimming hole called Deadman's Hole (Armstrong got into a bit of trouble over muddying up waters after building a dam), was recently profiled by AOL Real Estate after being put up for sale for a whopping $12 million. Check out what $12 big ones gets you below...

Here's the actual real estate page listing (just in case you're one of our more wealthy readers), which is a pretty darn humble considering the price of the estate. Information is listed as such:

Main House

  • 4241 Sq Ft (hcad)
  • Five Bedrooms
  • Five Full Bathrooms
  • Two Living Areas

Guest House

  • One Bedroom
  • One Bathroom

  • 447.8 acres (hcad)
  • Approx. 1886 ft of frontage on the Pedernales River (per survey)
  • Ownership in Dead Man's Hole
  • Built by David Dalgleish in 2003
  • Designed by Ryan Street and Associates
  • 7 miles of mountain bike trails
  • Paved, private, gated drive
  • Pool and spa
  • Heated and cooled workshop with full bath

The home is tastefully decorated, if not a bit hotel-ish in feel. But 448 acres, 7 miles of mountain bike trails and your own swim hole? Now that's something worth aspiring to. Lance, throw in one of your countless yellow jerseys and maybe we can meet somewhere between you asking price and the $22.34 I've got in my wallet. A few more photos of Lance's digs over at Luxist also, including more excellent photos of the surrounding grounds.
