Clear the decks. Children create messes that can turn a civilized living room into a wasteland of toys, art supplies, clothes and tiny miscellaneous objects that have no proper home. You clean it up and it all comes right out again a few hours later. What you need are two things: a child who cleans up after themself (takes work) and multiple easy bins for putting all this crap away quickly. We saw these bins and shelf at Land of Nod and thought they fit the bill perfectly.
The Splitwood Baskets ($12-24) are made of ash and come in two sizes: Small Shelf Basket: 8 x 12 x 4.75"h. Large Shelf Basket: 16.5 x 12.5 x 6"h (there is also a hamper size). The liners are sold seperately ($6-15) and come in three colors.
The Storage Palooza containers ($149) are inspired by vegetable bins and come in either two or three compartment configurations - 36.5 x 19.5 x 17"h - and five colors. MGR
