Leather is one of the most popular materials found in the home. It's so versatile, comes in a variety of shades and textures and well, just looks so darn good when used right. The most popular way used is on couches and chairs — but we really like leather in the bedroom.
And, no, we're not talking about that kind of leather in the bedroom — we're talking about headboards. If dark leather is used it creates a sultry and sexy atmosphere while a white leather creates a retro and glamorous space.
A soft and sensual approach is to use a lighter leather in a shapelier form as seen in image one from Little Green Notebook. The color is soft and works so well with the shape of the headboard and the rich color palette found in the rest of the room. Another good look is the black and cognac color scheme of the second photo from Peppermint Bliss. The headboard is so sexy against the black walls, white bedding and metallic accents.
As shown above, a few examples of just how varied and versatile the material can be:
• White Leather Tufted Headboard, Little Green Notebook
• Black and Cognac, Peppermint Bliss
• DIY Leather Headboard, Headboards
• Retro Glam, Martha Stewart
• Padded Walls, The Brick House

Loving the first 3 - but the last one looks like something from an Asylum for the Criminally Insane...
@bespf: Considering I actually work in an a mental hospital, this would be the nicest patient room I've ever seen. However, it still doesn't look pleasant or relaxing. To me it looks like someone squatting in a gym.
I'm liking the leather, but agree there's a "padded cell" look to the last one!
I'm loving the darker leathers! The sultry vibe is perfect for the bedroom. But I do agree that the last is reading as a cell. I was thinking it looked like some strange luggage storage.
