Last Minute Gift To Make: Foam Food

Okay, maybe it's not truly last minute yet, but if you're as busy as we are right now it might feel that way. You know how we love DIY play kitchens and make-your-own felt food, right? Well reader Karen has her own quick and easy spin on the idea: foam!

If you have young kids you probably have some craft foam sheets at home already. If not, you can find them fairly easily at craft supply stores, toy stores or even the art section of your local drug store (and here's one online source). Yes, craft foam is not as eco-friendly as wool felt, but we've always found it to be durable and long-lasting so should be useful to your kids and their friends for a while.

Karen shared this idea on her blog Attack of the Craft where she and her son made a sandwich with all the fixins' from craft foam and makers. We're sure you can think of other foods to make from this to stock your child's play kitchen.

Thanks Karen!
