Laundry controls my life. At least it has the capacity to, if I let it. We spend a lot of time here at Apartment Therapy gazing at gorgeous laundry rooms or mooning over the cutest bins and safest detergents. But let's get down to the brass tacks here: how often do you do it, and does it wind up taking over your bedroom like it does mine?
Admittedly, this is not a "how to" post, more a crowd sourcing post for best options. One of the issues here is that we have too many clothes. Period. I have two daughters, who each would love to change clothes three to four times per day if they could. They both have a far too plentiful wardrobe, much of which has to be ironed in order to be presentable. Does anyone but me actually iron anymore?
I'm considering a moratorium on buying clothes until next Fall. We can whittle down during Spring Cleaning, and take the summer to eBay the good stuff. What I want to know is, what's the goal? How often do you do laundry, and for how many people? How many outfits do you own? Your children? Should we aim for 7 days worth of clothing per season? 14? And is ironing a ridiculous prospect in 2013?
If you have a good system, do share. If you're in the same boat as we are, we want to know that too! Let's commiserate and come up with a plan, together.
