What I Love About My Entryway:
What I love most is that there is room inside the door to move, and set your things. I recently painted the front door and I love how the happy turquoise color ties into my favorite rug, and the colors carry throughout the house. I love that there is a place for keys, for shoes and for my last minute accessories, like sunglasses as I check myself in the big mirror as I run out the door. In short, it really functions and it is completely representative of what the rest of our home looks and feels like.
Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Entryway:
1. Use trays and baskets to organize. That way you always know where your keys are.
2. A mirror is a necessity, to give yourself one look over before you go out into the world.
3. If you don't have a closet, make a home for coats. Coats thrown over the dining chairs is a pet peeve of mine. We don't have a coat closet, so we bought a wardrobe from Ikea to supplement.
