- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- Lily and I absolutely love the high ceilings and exposed brick. We have a good mix of old and new: a letterpress from 1915 and furniture we have purchased over time. I also love that we have been resourceful with how we have put our room together. We are both young professionals with big dreams and small incomes, so a lot of furniture was customized by us along with the rest of the apartment.
- What are your tips for creating a beautiful, healthy and organized bedroom?
- Our apartment is very dark, the photos show the max amount of sunlight we receive, which can be pretty depressing. I think it is very important to bring the light into the bedroom, adding in bright bed linens and a fresh yellow paint. Our rooms isn't particularly huge, so we use that to our advantage to motivate us to ALWAYS clear the floor of clothes, bags, books, etc.
- In modern homes, bedrooms have become more than just a place to sleep; they can be a retreat, a home office, a library, a relaxation zone. What are some ways you make the most of your bedroom?
- We like to keep the bedroom, well a bedroom. No TVs, no desks with computers. It feels nice to get into bed and not here the buzzing of electronics, or feel the urge to check our emails.

I love the hippo print! Can you tell me more about it? Where is it from?
I don't understand the towels hanging on the door but I like the room.
@LyonStill, what's not to get? (Or did you mean they should have moved them for the photo shoot?) That's where I hang my towels - one of the many downsides of a thimble-sized bathroom.
This is an amazing space! Wow! Kudos. Also, I happen to like seeing the towels on the door -I personally would rather see how people really live rather than something that resembles a catalog shoot.
Love the brick.
I can never see Pawtucket, RI without thinking of Family Guy.
Sorry
The exposed brick is beautiful and I second the love for the hippo print! Where did you get it?
Gorgeous! I would love to see a full home tour of this place. You have great style!
We think the styling is superb. We love the graphic touches and the use of colour. Wow! Yes where is the hippo print from?
Ok..this is like the 3rd or 4th bedroom in this contest to have the same duvet. Where did you get it? :) Love the brick and the warmth this room gives off. Very nice!
Hi all! Thanks so much or the love!
The hippo print was a trash to treasure find in the building that I used to work at in New York. The woman down the hall was giving everything away, and I snagged it as soon as I saw it. I am away from my apartment, but I will surely post the illustrator's name when I return.
The bedding sure has been popular! It is West Elm from 2011. I'm regretting not getting the matching pillows!
Oh. Wow.
The brick walls and arches around the windows are so great. I really like the styling too, but if you're trying to make the space feel lighter I'm puzzled by the use of what appear to be black curtains. Anyway, what a cool space.
same :) beautiful room tho!
so cozy looking! love the brick and warm atmosphere you've created
Hi all! Thanks again for all the love! I just looked at the name on the hippo print, and the illustrator's name is Robert Leydenfrost.

Love it!!!
amazing bricks!
The room has a nice edgy urban feel but it's softened by the tall rounded windows and little feminine touches like the bouquet and the curtains. My vote for the win!
I love this room! It is exactly what a bedroom should be - a place to snuggle, relax, and get some deep sleep. The only problem would be never wanting to get out of bed! ;)
This is a color scheme I love, the bricks are fantastic, and I, too, own that duvet. I think we have the same curtains as well. I am compelled to vote for you!! :-)
I think this room would be winning if the pictures were brighter and it had been entered earlier. Love it.
I love the bricks and the yellow on the wall. You have the right idea, no TV or electronics, my sentiments too. `its gorgeous and gets my vote. The bedding is very nice too, I have no problem with the towels on the door, it makes it look real not anally retentive. Enjoy it.
I've heard that the only way to add light to a room that gets no natural light is with electricity (lamps, lamps, lamps): yellow or cheery paint colors won't help... in some cases, they make the problem more noticeable as they come off merely dingy.
Lovely room, though.
