A Lay Flat Office Chair: Revolutionary or Crazy?

A Lay Flat Office Chair: Revolutionary or Crazy?

Ergonomic chairs are a big topic here at Unplggd. We've seen plenty of non-Aeron solutions and compared varying types of seating solutions for different scenarios, but a chair for laying down right at your workspace? Hey, now we're talkin'.

The design of the AnyChair may just be the first of its kind. At a first glance - a standard leather chair with arm rests. However, little do people realize you can kick back with a quick flip of a switch, transforming it into a completely horizontal plane for some sleepy time at the office.

For those of us who sit in our chairs for hours on end, this might not be a bad idea. We've always imagined the Humanscale Freedom chair to be the perfect chair for getting in your short little power naps, but being able to lay flat may just be what the doctor ordered.

However, it's always good to consider your budget when it comes to selecting ergonmic chairs, along with comfort and look/design. Fortunately, it doesn't seem like the AnyChair skimps in the design department here and at $600 a pop, you can invest a bunch in your new offices to have an army of well-rested employees. Either that or you'll just end up with a sweet makeshift massage parlor.
