Through the course of playing some great Wii games and sweating off the holiday pounds, we tend to use quite a few batteries. At Unplggd we are always on the lookout for great new accessories that not only improve on our gaming experience, but also are well designed and work with our decor. Enter Energizer's new flat Wiimote Induction Charger a well designed device that will look smart while keeping our Wiimote batteries charged.
This smartly designed flat panel charger does not take up much space, making it easy to find a spot for in a tiny apartment. Using this device is simple, just lay the Wiimote on the flat panel to charge. The charger works through the use of a special rechargeable battery pack that is inserted into your Wiimote (this replaces your battery panel), the batteries then use induction to charge when placed on the flat panel charger. A magnet holds the Wiimote in place to ensure the proper charging placement. The system works even if your Wiimote is encased in a silicon sleeve and/or the MotionPlus accessory is attached.
The Induction Charger is available in two flavors, the 2X for charging two Wiimotes and the 4X for charging four. The device is slated for sale in early December, the 2X model will retail for $29 and the 4X $49.

What do you think, do you like the idea of laying the Wiimote flat to charge or do you prefer a charging holster?

Really not a fan of this induction charging crap that has become so popular. This adds no additional function (the wiimote still has to be placed on a docking station to charge) while resulting in an extremely inefficient power transfer. Devices like this needlessly burn through extra electricty just so you can feel "gadgety."
While it's convenient, I've discovered that any sort of charging holster seems to kill the rechargeable battery life.
