Layla Kate's Raspberry Linen Room

My Room

Name: Layla Kate (2 months)
Location: Kansas City

My daughter asked me to design a room for her new daughter using raspberry and linen. Layla’s room is a mix of repurposed vintage furniture, bold fabrics and hand-made details.

A faux finished wall representing “board and batten paneling” and a “framed” chalkboard sits behind the Restoration Hardware iron crib, which was reused from big brother Hudson’s room. The wide-stripe raspberry fabric we were looking for was found in a Pine Cone Hill bedskirt. Using a full/queen bedskirt, I re-purposed it into a crib skirt and two large side pillows for the turn-of-the-century bed frame we had made into a daybed. Citrine green, tangerine and gray were added into the mix through fabrics, vintage Chinese lanterns and a paper confetti garland. A monochromatic Moroccan design stenciled on one wall is the backdrop for an American Empire Era buffet turned changing table.

Well done - thanks, Shannon!
