A veteran of the design industry, decorator and business owner Joel Dessaules has been designing and manufacturing his look for many years. Starting his brand, LDC Home, out of an old showroom in the desert, it was only a matter of time before he grew the company, graduated from Palm Springs life to bring his vision to Los Angeles.

He opened his showroom for LDC HOME on La Brea back in 2008, bringing a mix of modern and classic to the La Brea Design District. After three years of business through his brick-and-mortar shop, with fourteen years of design 'know how' Joel will expand his services and reinvent the retail experience for LDC on the web. Sean Yashar of brand consultancy, The Culture Creative, has been integral in reimagining LDC's business model, as he says, "from brick-and-mortar to an online platform geared to the modern, luxury consumer." With the closing of his shop at the end of May, Joel joined forces with John Saint-Denis, Ron Woodson and the HRC Federal Club to host a benefit for his closing event.

In the next few months, as Joel brings all things LDC Home online, he'll also begin featuring DIY step by step tutorials, travel pop-up sales from his excursions to exotic places, private, limited-time event sales, and entertaining video shorts about design and decorating.

Reaching a much broader audience, the expansion of his web presence will be a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in innovative yet easily accessible design. A new features blog on LDCHome.com called "D. All Of the Above" will encapsulate Joel's ideas that more is more in design and decorating.

On May 26th, Joel hosted an event featuring an art sale and silent auction to benefit the Human Rights Campaign. Three main vignettes were designed by John Saint-Denis, Adam Bram Straus, and Joel himself. There was a wide collection of art and gifted packages to the event which help to raise money for a great cause, which Joel is more than happy to have been a successful support of. Various works included artists John Wolf, John Arsenault, Christopher Guy, Reza Pazooki, Mike Regan, Brandon Herman, while donations were provided by Catherine Malandrino, Gibson and Kelly Osterholt.
