Q: I live in Los Angeles and need to get the chair fixed. Its actually not in bad shape, the wood is perfect, but the leather needs to be treated and the arm straps need to be repaired. However, this chair was in my parents' house when I was growing up so it has sentimental meaning and I want to find a someone who will repair the leather with a lot of care. I haven't been able to find too many leather repair shops or leather experts here in LA...

Can the Apartment Therapy readers give me some suggestions?

Editor - Anyone have positive experience with a leather repair shop with their leather furniture pieces they can recommend to Natalia? We've had a few posts related to leather repair in the past we recommend to check out also:

you could always try your cobbler.
i bought a Wassily chair at a garage sale last year and the leather needed some work. I took the chair apart and brought the leather pieces to my shoemaker and he restitched and cleaned them up and my chair looks as good as new. It cost me about $140 (the chair itself was only $60) but it was well worth it.
If it needs a real overhaul -- call superior leather restorers in NY....they can do anything.
