Q: I picked up this coffee table today at the flea market thinking this would be an easy piece to play around with. I am in love with the shape of it, but I am not sure how I should go about refinishing it. The leather itself does have some faint cracking, as well as a few gouges. I thought about chalk painting it, but I don't think the surface would be smooth. Would it be possible to sand the leather down, or would you suggest I keep it intact? Should I just remove the leather altogether and work from there?
I don't want too spend money having professional work done, as the piece was only $20, but I am open to any suggestions, as I have never worked with a piece like this before, and DIY posts on the internet are far and few between!
