- Inspiration for my palette:
- We wanted the bedroom to look romantic, without seeming cliche or overdone. With 14 foot ceilings, we decided to use a dark color to make the room seem cozy, and a cool dark color to make it peaceful. The warm wood kept it romantic instead of just dark, and the white added contrast.
- Colors used in my room
- Deep indigo, warm white, warm brown, silver
- Tips for using color successfully
- If you want the room to seem peaceful, avoid having too many colors in the space.
- Palette
- Almost Indigo

Room for Color
Lovely and dramatic! A bold choice and it pays off.
This might be my favorite favorite room now. I love how tasteful everything is. Well done! Also, where'd you get that clock from?
Oh, please do tell us the paint type and color...
this is a really nice room, but the paint job looks messy -- you can see paint lines all over the wall!
Moody yet romanitc! Nicely done.
Absolutely love this color.
Love the color!
I too want that clock!
Dramatic and sophisticated.
I don't know whether that was intentional, but I certainly think that's part of the charm. of the place. It certainly contributes to it being "moody yet romantic" as Tracy 333 calls it.
I Love it!! soo dark, moody, romantic and all things associated with drama and sex and desire.!
I didn't see any paint lines. Love this room.
Too dark for me ...it is perfect for a day sleeper. This is why you get my vote
.the contrast of white is welcomed..I would add more..like changing out the throw on the bed.
The comment about the paint swipes..something is going on to the right of the bed. Could it be shadows, light source or glossy paint .....just asking for knowledge.
Please respond, since this is an area I know little about.... would have a professional painter..my energy level would not hold up.
Hi all!
My sister bought me the clock years ago, so I'm afraid I don't know where she got it.
The paint is a high gloss, and yeah, the texture is deliberate :) The paint is Dutch Boy (honestly, not much fun to work with) the color was some seasonal one from a few years ago. Sadly, I don't remember the name. Sorry!
Thanks for the support, everyone!
Lovely. I'm doing a similar thing in my bedroom using Benjamin Moore's After Midnight.
Dark paint like this is a nightmare to work with as it looks "streaky" when the light hits it. It's also very difficult to photograph.
I'm doing my entire room, ceilings, baseboards etc. So far it's looking good. If they do this feature again when I'm done I'll enter my room too.
Like it. Imagine searching Dali wall clock & some type of it should turn up.
This is stunning. Wow.
The room looks very spooky what with the almost-black walls, headless mannequin in the corner, Dali-esque clock and multiple tall candles on the bureau.
Amazon has the Dali wall clock

Love the room and color choices, Lee!
That is a cool wall color! Nice.
I love the first picture. Some small details in the other ones will make it perfect
amazing...reminds me little of batman:)
Very dark and sexy - I like.
