When the iPad first came out, you know Unplggd was on top of the case coverage (and we may or may not have gotten carried away with all of our coverage); we talked about cases until we were blue in the face. One of our favorite cases was the DODO iPad case and frankly, they sort of blew up. A lot of our friends are avid lovers of all things Moleskine and when the company didn't respond to the onslaught of requests from iPad users, DODO stepped in.
The DODO cases filled the Moleskine gap and it didn't seem to get much better than that. Well, until Moleskine finally decided to respond to the demand. They realized a much smaller, U.S based company was picking up where Moleskine left off and was making some money. Well, we don't know if that's the actual story — but it sure does sound juicy doesn't it?
So, Moleskine probably just realized that they were making a lot of money when they teamed up with Amazon to have Moleskine Kindle covers and knew that iPad users probably wanted the same luxury. We have to say, they truly are a luxury too.
Moleskine is releasing: a Smartphone Cover compatible with iPhone 3G and 3GS, and a Tablet Cover, iPad compatible. The tablet only being compatible with the iPad is a given, since it seems to be the most popular tablet on the market. However, we are a little surprised that the smartphone cover is only compatible with the 3G and 3GS. We know plenty of people that went out and bought the iPhone 4. Lucky for us, we still have the 3GS!
