Lego Birthday Party

Lego Birthday Party

Remember Ashley, whose gorgeous nursery we featured last summer? Well, when Ashley isn't managing her photography business and caring for her baby daughter AND running after her three little boys, she's organizing super-fun parties. Case in point: her oldest son's recent sixth birthday celebration, a Lego fiesta we would have loved to attend ourselves!

The theme was decided early on by Ashley's very decisive almost-six-year-old, who told her: "I want to play Legos and eat donuts. For the donuts I want a tower with Lego men on it. I want one dozen glazed, one dozen chocolate, one dozen chocolate with sprinkles and one dozen sugar. Then on the top I want a rectangle donut with 6 candles on it. I don't want the candles all crazy on it. I want them in a straight line down the middle."

Ashley's response: "Glad you know EXACTLY what you want."

Ashley more than delivered on her son's request, and the details are all chronicled in this very funny blog post. She has a terrific sense of humor about the fact that all the little details she painstakingly executed – fun coloring sheets, a cool skateboard goody bag display, a game involving individually sorted bags of Legos – went completely unnoticed by the birthday boy and his friends. As Ashley puts it, "Sooner than later the Legos got dumped on the floor and the craziness began."

If you're looking for party inspiration for older kids, be sure to read Ashley's full post, which includes more of her gorgeous photography. And while you're there, check out her photography site, too.
