As far as sports equipment goes, we're pretty sure we've never seen anything as stunning as Paul Cunningham's handmade, vintage inspired baseballs and footballs. According to the profile in his Etsy shop, Lemonball, he was a researcher for the National Baseball Hall of Fame, a photo editor for Major League Baseball, and a Senior Baseball Glove Craftsman for elite players. Quite an impressive resume, and it shows in his work.

The lemon peel style baseball, ($25) predecessor to the modern "figure eight" style ball, is crafted from leather and stitched with linen thread. It comes in several different color combinations, and is tough enough to withstand the rigors of real outdoor sports.

The Leather Head footballs ($98 or $118), also handcrafted from real leather, can be custom engraved with a name or personalized message. "Magnificent on display, but intended for use", these gorgeous, heirloom quality balls develop a soft patina with wear. We think these gems, along with a sunny day and a grassy field, are truly the stuff of summertime memories.
