This bedroom area is full of dualities: it's at once cozy and glam; spare and dense.

It's the bedroom of Ilse Crawford's London loft, featured in Marie Claire Maison. A few helpful lessons can be taken from this stylish space:

  • When you're in a studio or loft space without separate rooms, screen functions off from one another with free-standing book cases. It'll provide extra storage and display space while creating a semi-open enclosure.
  • Warm up harsh all-whites with something handmade.
  • Surround yourself with things you love. Some may say that books are clutter. But if you love them, keep them and keep them close. Display what you love beautifully enough to justify keeping it in your home.
