
Houseboats tend to be reliable sources for small-space inspiration, almost by definition. Missy Gerber and Steve Reinking's home on the Willamette River is no exception.

The two-story houseboat had serious layout and structural issues when the couple purchased it a few years ago, and their remodel focused on opening up space on the ground floor and reorganizing the rooms to make more sense — namely, moving the kitchen from the second floor to abut the living room.

How come they beautifully coloured the inside of the place, and they let the outisde be horrible sterile white?
