Now it's summer, there's a good chance packing for vacation may be on your itinerary. Everyone likes to take a break during the summer months, whether it's a quick weekend away or a two-week trip to another country. Regardless of the length of your getaway(s), here's a site that can aid in your packing practices...
The web app lets you choose between a trunk, a rolling suitcase or a carry-on bag depending on what type of trip you're packing for. Obviously, they are geared toward specific pieces of LV luggage, but the sizes of each piece are fairly standard, especially the Pegase suitcase and Keepall carry-on.
What we like about this web app is that it offers packing tip in a fun and interactive way. It walks you through all different stages of packing starting with laying out everything you want to pack so nothing is forgotten - tips like this can be applied to any type of packing.

The items laid out on the site move so that you know what types of items to pack first, such as heavy items. Step by step, the app tells you how to pack most efficiently, like putting heavy pouches at the bottom, and rolling up jeans and T-shirts to fit the rails of the suitcase to maximize space. Then there are options that teach you how to correctly fold articles of clothing like a suit or a sports jacket.

I actually think this is very useful. A little over the top? Maybe, but the information is still good. I travel all the time, so now it's habit to pack well but it took me a long time and a lot of trial and error to learn how to do it properly. I wish someone had told me all these tips when I first started traveling, it would have saved me a lot of stress. I also like that what they're trying to pack is realistic... sometimes you really do need a different pair of shoes for every outfit! ;)
Such a snob, Thorndale.
Thorndale, you suck. You need to get out of your narrow-minded view of the world and not take things so seriously.
That was a great instructional site and use of technology. I showed it to my wife. I learned a few things on how to best pack those common luggage types.
Good packing tips and fantastic luggage. My god, $9,000 for a suitcase!! In my dreams, I own a full set of Louis Vuitton luggage (including the standing trunk) and live in a suite at the Four Seasons when I am not traveling the world in my personal jet *sigh* Back to reality....
There was nothing on the site about packing.
And, yes, packing is something you need to learn. Just look at all those people who travel with enormous suitcases for a week or two.
I have always found tips on how/what to pack for a trip very useful. I tend to overpack because I'm afraid to leave something I'll need behind, and an interactive ap may be what some folks find useful.
But IMO the best site for learning what to pack and how is onebag.com. We only use carryons to avoid luggage fees, and the bundle method is totally the way to go!
